We commemorate Indigenous Peoples’ Day (Oct. 9) with Jessica Farmer, Cultural Programs Coordinator at the Shako:wi Cultural Center. Jessica has been educated and raised by Storytellers and Artists from both the Oneida and Onondaga Nations. She has worked with the Oneida Nation for 22 years and at Shako:wi for the last 8 years. Her father is Isaiah Farmer Jr, of the Onondaga, Turtle Clan. Jessica is committed to helping the community grow in their traditional practices and arts.
