Rev. Greta W. Crosby is the eldest living former minister (1960-1961) of our Utica UU Church. Her daughter, Lara Pollock, will read the sermon, “Mobile Deity”, from her recently published book of Rev. Crosby’s sermons and writings. Lara will tell us about Rev. Greta’s humanitarian legacy. As a Unitarian Universalist minister from 1959 to 1996, Greta was a trailblazer for women’s rights, Civil Rights and the abolition of the death penalty. She advocated for LGBTQ causes, the prevention of hate crimes, and the protection of survival rights for marginalized people. Rev. Crosby is 95 and sent words of congratulations during our Bicentennial commemoration this past fall.
Lara and her husband Danny live with and care for Greta at their shared home in Derby, Kansas. Lara is an acupuncturist & massage therapist, and treats people out of her in-home office. Lara is also a dedicated student of A Course in Miracles and she leads an online study group through Unity of Wichita.
